Off-White held a private art contest for select up-and-coming creatives, and I had the honor of being chosen to create artwork that would elevate their new Las Vegas store design. Ultimately, I became a finalist in the contest.

"OFF THE WALL" is an artistic oxymoron, designed to challenge conventional norms. This piece isn't confined to the wall; it can be placed on the ceiling, anchored to the floor, or even hung on a clothing rack. I conceptualize my painting as a form of performance art, engaging consumers and sparking curiosity as they interact with and purchase garments within the store. Inspired by Virgil Abloh's signature infusion of irony, this work blurs the line between black and white, pushing the boundaries of traditional beliefs. Why must a painting be restricted to a wall?

My painting consists of a dynamic blend of blues, oranges, golds, and hints of green, meant to resemble the vibrant color palette of the Vegas strip. The phrase "OFF THE WALL" is spray-painted in white overtop in a bold sans-serif font. Its purpose is to serve as a focal point, contrasting the bronze aura of the Las Vegas store, and drawing the viewer's attention through its striking and unexpected placement.
